Hi Darren,

Haven't heard or listened to you before, but my search for requirements needed to be met to expand my public speaking into another stream of income brought you my way.And I am fascinated by your wealth of knowledge compare to others I came across online.

I live and work in Alberta as a management accountant in an 8digit annual net income transport company.

Will you be kind to give me guidiance in this regards?
Is there any government requirement or governing body that one needs to belong to. For instance, the accountants have the CGA,CMA & CA professional bodies.

Are there requirements to organizing seminars & conferences?

You kind response will be highly appreciated. And I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Regards

Hi Darren-

That's the best video yet. (even with your head cut off!)

You gave really good specifics and your fifth tip really "hit home".

Thank you!

Hi Darren,

Just came across this blog via Google Alerts and thought I'd chip in. While I don't have your Get Paid to Speak by Next Week program yet, I have listened to the podcast that you did and made furious notes.

I am in the process of emigrating to the U.S. (from London) as I'm getting married later this year. The restrictions of my fiance visa mean that I cannot work; I have to apply for a separate permit.

Can you say "golden opportunity"?

This is perfect as it provides me with plenty of opportunities for researching my new home State, delving into the Encyclopedia of Associations and seeing how much stage time at Toastmasters, comedy clubs and civic organisations I can get until I'm allowed to make some green.

I'm currently formulating all this into an actionable plan. I'll keep you posted on how things develop.

Cheers,
Jason

I will commit to really "hit it" on the two opportunities I have in the next week and a half.
I will be presenting on presenting to Box Hill College (125 young women) and doing something that hasn't quite been defined yet for a large shipping company (training oriented to tanker ship crews). I'll be looking for the testimonials with my Mino and asking what else I can do for them and companies like them. (Identifying client needs)

Vitkauskas You say that there aren't any Toastmasters who try to learn how to be a better speaker just so they can be better speakers during meetings.

I guess what you are trying to say, in a concise way, is that improved Toastmaster speaking will give the member an opportunity to speak better outside of Toastmaster meetings.

I just wanted to add that I believe there are A LOT of Toastmasters who only want to be better meeting speakers. The great leap that they don't want to take is going outside the club.

I wonder how obliged we are to push the chicks out of the nest. I wonder how obliged we are to push ourselves AND others in the club to speak outside the meetings.

You are absolutely right in every single word you said. This week I attended Division E (in Qatar) to give a one-hour keynote speech during their annual conference. This was a wonderful opportunity for me to be a key note speaker seconding a public speaking world champion "Lance Miller".

The past 30 days were so special in my life. I had the great opportunity of meeting yourself & Ed Tate in Saudi Arabia first and two weeks later I met with a third World champion "Jim key" in Saudi Arabia. And this week I met the fourth one in Qatar.

I really learnt a lot from you. You have already shortened my learning curve.

I still need your help to change public speaking from just a hoppy into an income source. I am very confident that I can impress any audience by delivering outstanding speeches, seminars and workshop. They had always surrounded me after my speeches and gave me spectacular testimonials.

What I still can't do is make the talents/capabilities I have, which became the way they are after I had spent major investments, sources for income.

I would certainly need your help in that regard.

Thanks for such an excellent article.

Best Regards
